OmaKing Kuutsid: regular or Wide?
Short answer: choose the regular Kuutsid if your current everyday shoes give your toes enough room and you don’t need an especially wide toe box. Start with the Kuutsid Wide model if regular shoes pinch at the ball of foot or toes or if you want a wider toe box. Always choose length based on the model-specific size chart, not just your regular EU size.
Kuutsid is OmaKing’s low everyday shoe collection, available in several colors and also Wide versions. On Naiselle.fi’s current product pages, the differences between regular and Wide are not limited to width alone: the insole construction and, in some colors, the upper material also vary.
In this guide, we compare current models only based on their stated product information. Up-to-date size, material, price, and availability are always checked on the chosen product’s page.
Regular Kuutsid and Kuutsid Wide side by side
| Feature | Regular Kuutsid | Kuutsid Wide |
|---|---|---|
| Toe box | More traditional Kuutsid last | Toe box specifically described as wider in product details |
| Upper | Soft genuine leather in many colors | On the Wide Brown, Bordoo, and Yellow pages, soft genuine leather |
| Insole | In many regular models, a removable latex insole with leather or suede surface | On the Wide Brown, Bordoo, and Yellow pages, cork and latex construction with activated charcoal |
| Outsole | Lightweight EVA | Lightweight EVA |
| Who is it basically for? | When you don’t specifically need a toe box described as wider | When you need more space in the ball of foot and toe area |
The table does not mean that all colors in the same group have identical materials. For example, the details for the white and pink models differ from some of the other selections.
What is the regular Kuutsid like?
OmaKing describes Kuutsid as a simple everyday shoe inspired by slippers. The manufacturer’s official Cappuccino page states a soft leather upper, a removable latex insole covered with velour leather, and a lightweight EVA outsole.
On Naiselle.fi’s Kuutsid Cappuccino, Bordoo, Dark Red, Dark Green, Lilac, and Brown product pages, the construction is similar: the upper is leather and the insole is latex, but the wording for the insole’s surface material varies between leather, suede, or velour leather.
The regular model is a good starting point if your ball of foot and toes usually don’t feel cramped in regular walking shoes. However, foot width is only one aspect of fit: the height of the instep, heel shape, and foot length also affect fit.
What is Kuutsid Wide like?
Kuutsid Wide Brown, Wide Bordoo, and Wide Yellow are described on the product pages as having a wider toe box. According to the product details, the toes can spread more naturally at the tip than in a narrower shape.
These three verified Wide colors feature a soft leather upper, lightweight EVA outsole, and an insole utilizing cork and activated charcoal latex.
The product pages state that Wide models are also suitable for barefoot shoe users. This specifically refers to the volume of the toe box. However, Kuutsid Wide should not automatically be equated with all features of a minimalist barefoot shoe, as it has a separate insole and an EVA outsole.
Regular Kuutsid manufacturer's size chart
The official Cappuccino product page by OmaKing lists the following insole length and forefoot width measurements. Use the chart as a baseline for the regular Cappuccino model and verify the current chart for your chosen color from the product images on Naiselle.fi.
| EU size | Insole length | Insole forefoot width |
|---|---|---|
| 36 | 23.6 cm | 8.0 cm |
| 37 | 24.3 cm | 8.1 cm |
| 38 | 24.9 cm | 8.2 cm |
| 39 | 25.5 cm | 8.3 cm |
| 40 | 26.1 cm | 8.5 cm |
| 41 | 26.8 cm | 8.6 cm |
| 42 | 27.4 cm | 8.7 cm |
| 43 | 28.0 cm | 8.8 cm |
Insole width is not the same as foot circumference, and the chart should not be used as a Wide size chart. The exact size of the Wide version is selected from the specific product's own size chart.
How to measure foot length
Place a piece of paper on the floor against the wall. Stand on the paper normally with your heel lightly against the wall and mark the tip of the longest toe. Measure the distance from the edge of the paper to the mark. Repeat the measurement for the other foot and use the larger foot's result.
Measure your feet in the afternoon or evening and with the socks you plan to wear with the shoes. Compare the centimeter measurement to the model's own size chart. Do not assume that Wide automatically means a larger whole size: Wide primarily describes the shape of the shoe and the toe box space, not that the foot should be longer.
See the step-by-step measurement and home fitting guide also in the ankle boots size and fit guide. The same basic principles help with choosing all shoes ordered from the online store.
How do I choose between regular and Wide?
| Observation from your own foot or current shoes | A better first comparison point |
|---|---|
| Regular everyday shoe does not pinch the ball of the foot or toes | Regular Kuutsid |
| The little toe or side of the big toe often rubs against the shoe edge | Kuutsid Wide |
| Toes are cramped together in current shoes | Kuutsid Wide |
| The shoe is roomy at the ball of the foot but the heel still fits | Regular Kuutsid might be a better starting point |
| You only need space lengthwise | First check the correct size; Wide does not compensate for shoes that are too short |
If the choice is unclear, send Naiselle.fi customer service the length of both feet in centimeters, your usual size, and information about where your current shoes pinch.
Material must be checked by color
The Kuutsid name alone does not guarantee the same material in every color. Many models are leather, but the white Kuutsid product page states a PU leather upper and microfiber insole. The pink model's page, on the other hand, states nubuck leather and latex/suede insole.
Therefore, when making a purchase decision, three things are checked separately: model name, size chart, and material list.
Frequently asked questions about Kuutsid shoes
Is Kuutsid Wide just one size larger than the regular Kuutsid?
No. Wide refers to a wider toe area. The overall length size is still chosen from the specific model's own size chart.
Are all Kuutsids suitable for wide feet?
Not all models are described as wide. If you need more toe space, choose a product whose name and product details clearly mention Wide or a wider toe area.
Are all Kuutsids made of genuine leather?
No. Many models have genuine leather uppers, but for example, the white model's product page states a PU leather upper. Check the material by color.
Is Kuutsid Wide a barefoot shoe?
The product pages describe the Wide model's toe area as wide and suitable for barefoot shoe users. This alone does not mean the model meets all the features used for minimalist barefoot shoes.
Where can I see all OmaKing models?
